Firmware updates add new games, fix bugs, and improve compatibility. GB-Link supports two update methods.

The easiest way to update is through the launcher:

  1. Go to launcher.gblink.io.
  2. Connect your adapter.
  3. Check the Device Health panel for your current version.
  4. If an update is available, click the update button and wait for completion.
  5. Reconnect if prompted.

No files to download — the launcher handles everything in the browser.

Manual update

If you prefer to flash manually or the web updater isn’t available:

  1. Download gblink.uf2 from the latest release on GitHub.
  2. Hold the BOOTSEL button on the adapter.
  3. While holding BOOTSEL, connect the adapter to your computer via USB.
  4. Release BOOTSEL. A drive named RPI-RP2 (or similar) should appear.
  5. Drag and drop the .uf2 file onto the drive.
  6. The adapter reboots automatically with the new firmware.

Some GB-Link USB V2 units also have an onboard button for manual firmware flashing.

After updating

  • Reconnect the adapter in your browser.
  • Verify the new version in the launcher’s Device Health panel.
  • If a game or mode behaves unexpectedly after an update, try rebooting the adapter.
